Chronology
Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved aunt Lucy, who is now residing at the home for retired bears. With the Brown family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery sends them on an unexpected journey. However, he pitched the idea for this third film and was brought on board as an executive producer.
Paddington in Peru is a charming enough film, if unremarkable
Starring in Graham Norton and the Fans: Billy Crystal/Emily Mortimer/Hugh Bonneville/Pharrell Williams/Michael Kiwanuka (2024). It doesn’t quite reach the heights of Paddington 2 of course, but is probably about on par with the first. With a different director at the helm, this film also takes a different angle as it elevates the action from London and places it in the jungles of Peru.
It makes for a fairly interesting story that flows quite well and maintains a decent pace
This is probably a wise choice as it allows the film to feel fresh and different from the other two. It also allows for a slightly different type of story, this one being perhaps more adventurous and exciting. The humor is a bit mediocre, but it is definitely more aimed at children, which reflects my age more than anything else.
It is nice and soft
I also think the emotional side is a bit lacking. I remember Paddington 2 making me cry, but this one seems a bit softer. In fact, I think that word sums up this film.
